Learn the process.

1. Initial Assessment

Assessment of your aesthetic goals, and your suitability for veneers.

2. Tooth Preparation

A small amount of enamel is removed from the front surface of the teeth to make room for the veneers.

3. Impression Taking

Impressions of the prepared teeth are taken and sent to a dental laboratory where your custom veneers will be fabricated.

4. Temporary Veneers

Temporary veneers will be placed to protect the prepared teeth while your permanent veneers are being made.

5. Veneer Assessment

Once your custom veneers are ready, they will placed on your teeth to check the fit and color.

6. Veneer Placement

Once you are satisfied, the veneers are bonded to your teeth using a special adhesive.

7. Final Adjustment

After the veneers are securely bonded, final adjustments are made before being polished to give them a natural look and feel.

First Visit

Initial Consultation
Our dentists will assess your teeth, bite, and gums to evaluate if veneers are suitable for you. We encourage you to share your aesthetic goals and desired outcomes, allowing us to tailor your cosmetic treatment to your specific needs.
Shade Selection
Our dentists will present you with a color selection sheet to assist in choosing your preferred veneer shade. While they will recommend options that align with your expectations and other relevant factors, the final choice remains entirely yours.
Shape Selection
Cosmetic dentistry encompasses more than just the color of your teeth. The shape and outline of your teeth play crucial roles in the overall impact on your smile and appearance. Our dentists will recommend the most suitable veneer shapes for you, taking into account factors such as your age, gender, personality, smile line, jaw line, and lip line.
Preliminary Impression
An initial impression of your teeth will be captured using impression materials or scanning devices. This impression serves as a reference model and is used to create your temporary veneers.

Factors to consider.

Amount of veneers

For a few veneers, we recommend matching them to your natural teeth color. For a larger set (10-20 veneers), you can opt for brighter shades.

Personality

Extroverts often choose brighter shades, while introverts tend to prefer more natural tones.

Color Theory

white appears bigger.

Eye Color

Using the white part of the eye (sclera) can be a helpful reference for choosing the right shade for your teeth.

Skin Tone

Whiter shades work well with lighter complexions, whereas deeper complexions are often complemented by more natural tones.

Tooth Preparation
Our dentists will remove a minimal amount (0.5mm) of enamel from the teeth designated for veneers. The extent of enamel removal—whether it's just the front surface or includes the sides—depends on the chosen veneer shape and your desired outcome.
Final Impression
An impression of your minimally prepped teeth is taken using either impression materials or scanner devices, depending on the specific requirements of your case. This impression is then sent to the laboratory where your final veneers will be meticulously crafted.
Temporary Veneers
To minimize sensitivity and maintain your smile, your teeth will be fitted with temporary veneers. These will protect your teeth until your next appointment, when the lab has completed your permanent veneers.

A message from Mirage Dental Clinic.

We recognize the powerful influence of social media on young adults' perceptions of ideal smiles, particularly among those aged 18-22, who often seek perfectly symmetrical, white, Hollywood-style teeth. While the legal consenting age in the UAE is 18, Mirage Dental Clinic has chosen to perform cosmetic procedures only for individuals aged 22 and older. This policy aims to protect younger individuals from premature cosmetic interventions and gives them time to appreciate the beauty of their natural smile. Please understand that although the tooth reduction for each veneer is minimal, the procedure, as a whole, is invasive and irreversible, and we prioritize the long-term dental health and well-being of our patients.

Note on "No Prep" veneers.

No-prep veneers offer a way to enhance your smile without removing any tooth structure. However, they are not suitable for every case and have their own limitations. Since no tooth structure is removed and an additional layer is added on top of the tooth, the overall appearance of the tooth may appear bulkier and less translucent compared to traditional veneers. This added thickness can also push your lips forward, potentially affecting your speech and creating a lisp with certain sounds that rely on lip positioning. You can find no-prep veneers listed as "Composite Veneers" in our dental services.
Instructions

Steps and care.

Before having veneers
Maintain oral hygiene and share any concerns or allergies with us.
After having veneers
Resume normal activities; minor sensitivity may occur but will typically subside quickly.
Veneers Maintenance
Maintain your veneers by brushing twice daily, flossing, and using antibacterial mouthwash. Consider a mouthguard if you grind your teeth, and keep up with regular dental visits and professional cleaning. Reduce consumption of any staining beverage (coffee, tea, juices, colored carbonated drinks, etc...) and clean your teeth after consuming them.
Things to Avoid
Skip ice cubes, hard nuts, popcorn kernels, and sticky treats like taffy and caramels. Avoid smoking as it stains your veneers, teeth and lungs.

Frequently asked.

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last between 10-15 years, while composite veneers may last 5-7 years.

No, the process of placing veneers requires the removal of a thin layer of enamel, making it an irreversible procedure.

Veneers do not require special care beyond regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. However, avoiding hard foods and abrasive toothpaste can help extend their lifespan.

Veneers do not respond to whitening treatments. It's important to maintain good oral hygiene and avoid staining foods and drinks to keep your veneers looking their best.
